Everything Indian buyers ask before choosing an AC
This FAQ is designed to handle the objections that decide whether TrustAC becomes useful: price truth, installation quality, bill estimates, dealer trust, warranty, and city fit.
Getting started
BasicsWhat is TrustAC India?
TrustAC is a buying intelligence platform for Indian AC buyers. It compares model fit, verified-style dealer quotes, installed cost, service signals, and estimated electricity bill.
Is TrustAC an AC brand or dealer?
No. TrustAC is positioned as a neutral comparison and verification layer. It should help buyers compare brands and dealers before purchase.
What should I compare first?
Start with room size, city climate, daily usage hours, and installed cost. Brand and star rating matter after the fit is clear.
Price and dealer verification
Avoid hidden chargesWhy is the installed price different from the machine price?
Dealers often quote only the machine price. Installation, extra copper pipe, outdoor bracket, drain pipe, core cutting, transport, and stabilizer can add thousands of rupees.
How should TrustAC verify a dealer quote?
A verified quote should include GST invoice terms, warranty mapping, stock confirmation, installation inclusions, add-on rates, quote timestamp, and dealer identity.
Should I buy online or from a local dealer?
Online may have better machine price. Local dealers may be better for installation speed and service escalation. TrustAC should compare final installed cost and service response, not only checkout price.
Electricity bill and star rating
Running costDoes 5 star always save money?
No. A 5 star AC pays back faster when daily usage is high and power tariff is high. For moderate cities or low usage, a 3 star inverter can be the better value.
How accurate is the bill calculator?
It is an estimate. Real bills depend on set temperature, insulation, outdoor heat, room leakage, maintenance, compressor behavior, and local tariff slabs.
What temperature should I estimate for?
Use your normal behavior. Many Indian homes use 24-26C at night. Lower set temperatures increase consumption.
Installation and warranty
Post-purchase trustWhat should I check after installation?
Check cooling, drain flow, outdoor unit stability, pipe insulation, vacuum process, remote modes, warranty registration, and final invoice details.
Is stabilizer-free operation enough?
It depends on local voltage quality. Stabilizer-free range helps, but unstable areas may still need protection. Dealers should explain this before billing.
What warranty matters most?
Look at comprehensive warranty, PCB warranty, compressor warranty, condenser warranty, and service visit charges. Long compressor warranty alone is not the full story.
